You’ve probably read dozens and dozens of the same regurgitated articles on how to double and triple your blog traffic, haven’t you? As opposed to chipping in with another one of those articles myself, I have decided to tell let you in on a dirty secret that no other blogger or internet marketer would ever dream of sharing with you… especially for free!
Not sure what your thoughts are regarding the number of “blogs about blogging” and “blogging tips” blogs out there in the blogosphere, but they tend to write the same article over and over merely changing the title and rehashing the same message. My approach will be real easy and more direct.
My friends, quite simply, this is: The One Dirty Secret Internet Marketers Don’t Want You to Know!
Blog Traffic
Eventually, we all get to a point as bloggers where are blog traffic plateaus and we begin wondering if there is more we can do, right?
The internet marketers and other blogging experts write list after list about how to do this, but never really explain…. HOW?
Be funny. Be creative. Be daring. Be charming. Be personable. Write more. Write less. Umm… that doesn’t tell me much. — It’s like sitting in a restaurant, waiting on your food, smelling everyone else’s dish, but never being served! Just tell me what to do and how to do it! Stop asking me to subscribe or to buy some 12 step program!
The reality is that you don’t need to get “served”anything ; you already know what your blog needs and what to do! But, they treat you as if you are clueless!
Internet Marketing/Blog Marketing
Let me make it clear, that if your goal is to sit behind a keyboard and churn out article after article without analyzing what you are doing right and wrong, that’s a very detached method which will not allow you to gauge results. You have to put the article writing down sometimes and learn what resources are out there to distribute your blog content.
But, on the other hand, based on all the blog tips and advice, I have to develop a linking strategy, comment on hundreds of blogs, integrate a social media strategy on Facebook and Twitter, plus, I need to be a Guest Blogger on other blogs too?! Etc…etc…etc. With a demanding job and family life, who has the time?!
I understand that results do not occur overnight. When you start a blog, you should be thinking years not months. But, with all the interaction with blog communities, social media, and commenting… how much new blog traffic or backlinks can I really expect?
The One Dirty Little Secret
And remember, blog traffic has NOTHING to do with how well you write an article, but how easy it can be… found… in search!
That’s the simple secret! → There is no “magic formula” or something everyone is “in the know” about, except you. The reality is that an online networking campaign or social media strategy will NEVER compete with the percentage of pageviews and visits Google Search (Yahoo / Bing results are negligible) will deliver!
A great article is timeless, especially if a typical search query yields your article within the top 5 articles on the first page and serves a valuable resource to the reader, solves a problem, or challenges a commonly known belief.
If you are a WordPress blogger, you have to be using ‘All-In-One-SEO-Pack’ and even ‘SEO Friendly Images’ within your list of active plugins. (Never underestimate the percentage of traffic you can receive from a well SEO’d / optimized image!
Search Engine Optimization. It’s the only “free lunch” you will ever get as a blogger.
